If you are really into your social media and blogging, you may be aware that the Northern Blog Awards has recently taken place at the Midland Hotel. Bloggers and social media influencers from all around the north of England gathered for a night to celebrate the talent of northern creatives. Hosted by WeBlogNorth (WeBlog), the Northern Blog Awards came to Social Sticker for their Twitter wall requirements.
What is the Northern Blog Awards?
If you aren’t already aware, the Northern Blog Awards (NBAs) is a night of celebrating northern bloggers. Though there are many blogger and social media awards towards London, the north lacks this spotlight. WeBlogNorth founder, Holly Wood, decided to change this last year. In its second year, the NBAs awards creatives from a variety of categories for their influential efforts. We were honoured to take part in such a wonderful event.
The wall display
WeBlogNorth chose our most popular display, which is easy to see why. The display consisted of the seven latest tweets. Six of which would be in the background, with the latest taking centre stage before the feed refreshed! Having the latest tweet show up as a feature helped to encourage more of the attendees to get involved in the conversation! We noticed that the wall was looking a bit shy at the beginning of the event. However, things picked up after a short while. It just goes to show that conversation starters are a good way to get people more comfortable with joining in.
The attendees
You can look through the #NBAs18 feed to see how many people attended this joyous occasion. From content creators and influencers to large brands and small businesses, everyone joined in socially. Having a Twitter wall at your event enables people to see what is going on around them. The NBAs certainly acted as a great demonstration of this!

Due to the wonderful sponsors that took part in the event, there was plenty of activities to get people buzzing on Twitter! From Bathroom Takeaway with their ball pit bubbles to Mag-O keeping attendees entertained with a funky 4D photobooth! Our Twitter Wall was flourishing with exciting content that would help expand the reach of the Northern Blog Awards and WeBlogNorth.
