Whether it be a fundraising gala or an awards ceremony, marketing your next formal event is something that must be done with consideration. You want it to be a hit, but you don’t want it to be filled with just anyone who won’t benefit your brand in the future. So, with this in mind, here’s a handy checklist to promote your next formal event.
Graphics
Ideally, you need to work on the design and graphics of your formal event months in advance. You must make sure you have everything, from icons, fonts, brand colours and other elements that you plan to use throughout the event. You need to add all of this to your social media, you print marketing and even your social wall.
Website and email
You should create a dedicated landing page just for the event. This page should have all the necessary information people will need, such as the venue, time, where to buy tickets, links to your social pages for updates and more. Also, make sure there is a pathway to this landing page from your own homepage.
You have likely already sent out your first “save the date” email, and now it’s time to chase people up. Send reminders to those who expressed interest in the past but are yet to buy a ticket. Check your email campaigns to see who may need a second nudge.
Creating print materials is not something that should be ruled out. We may be in a digital world, but that doesn’t mean we’re no longer living in the real world. People still rely on posters and leaflets for information, so use it!
Facebook event
Create an event on Facebook via your brand’s Facebook page. Make sure it includes both the link to register and the link to your website. If you use Facebook’s event registration, make sure the registration link on your website is the same.
Prep your social wall
Even on the day, you will need a way to promote the event for the sake of brand representation and future events. To do this, you should consider adding a social wall. This will encourage your guests to speak about your event on social media. The great thing about this is that they are creating content for you, allowing you to focus more on the event itself.
With a social wall from Social Sticker, you can relax knowing your content will be created on your behalf, giving you event and brand the social media exposure it deserves. Sign up today or check out our demo!
